I began my martial arts training in 1981 in Clovis, New Mexico, while in the Air Force as an aircraft inspector, and achieved my Black Belt in 1986 and finally moved to Garland, Texas in 1991. July of 1994 I decided to open Rowlett Martial Arts Center while Rowlett was still considered a rural farming community. By this time I realized that martial arts is not just a form of self-defense, but a way of living.

It teaches you to respect yourself and others. You develop mental toughness to do the right thing while holding steadfast to one's values, no matter the consequences. The challenges you overcome during training help one to realize that we hold tremendous power within us both mentally and physically, and that the choices we make can either create balance and harmony or cause chaos in our worlds.

For over 20 years I have made it my life's work to share my knowledge and experiences with the students of Rowlett Martial Arts Center. It is my belief that our society needs the balance that martial arts can instill into individuals, especially our children. If I can help to positively inspire every student I train to be the best they can be in every aspect of their lives, then I too am succeeding in my goal.
